Wyatt is 3 months old! He looks almost exactly like Hadley did at this age...except he has slightly less hair. What can I say...he is still so young so it's not like I have a big list of his latest developments. He smiles, coos and sometimes outrightly laughs. He likes to be tickled and is so tolerant with Hadley giving him raspberries anytime she sees his bare belly. He is wearing 3-6 months, and his 0-3 month clothing is pretty much to small now. He loves swings and bouncy seats that vibrate. He is a bit needy, and it is clear that he loves to bed held and snuggled. This week we are going to start some sleep training as I have been a sucker. When he needs to eat at night I take him into the guest room and we end up staying there the rest of the night. Honestly, I don't mind...I like it because I am a snuggler. Chris won't snuggle me at night, so I love that Wyatt likes snuggles. But, last night he really woke up about every 1.5 hours to 2 hours. He has been going to bed earlier now, around 8:30 or 9, but we need to work on during the night. So I think feedings will now be in the rocking chair. Hadley enjoys playing with Wyatt. In general, she is very loving to him. It will be fun as he gets older to see them interact. I hope she continues to be good to him.
Wyatt still is a bit wobbly, and doesn't hold his head up as well and strong as Hadley did at this age. It is like he just doesn't care. He hasn't tried to roll over. I think he may be a little lazy.
I love this squishy little man! I feel so amazingly blessed to have 2 healthy beautiful children. It is fun to have a girl and a boy, too! I am SO looking forward to this holiday season where we get to be with family and Hadley and Wyatt can get to play with cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends.

On October 1st we went to the opening event of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. We went last year, and were not planning on going this year because its more trouble with a new baby. You have to get up at like 4am, but we decided to venture out and do it anyways because Hadley LOVES the hot air balloons. We thought she would absolutely love it. She liked riding the school bus to the park, and she did like seeing the balloons, but she gave us a headache whining and being angry because she couldn't ride in one. We thought, "Maybe it's not worth it!" But she is still talking about how much fun she had with the balloons, and everytime she sees a school bus she talks about getting to ride one. So, I guess it was worth it.
A new record was set for the most balloons being set off in an hour. I don't remember how many. Seemed about the same as last year, but either way it is exciting and the pictures just don't do it justice.
It is cold early in the morning, so we needed hats and coats. Wyatt helped keep me warm in the carrier.
Hadley would reach up to the sky and yell, "I can't reach it!" She cracked everyone up as a balloon right near us was rising saying, "Uh oh! There is goes!" Every grandma-aged woman near by laughed and commented on Hadley.
She loves to ride Daddy's shoulders, but it never lasts real long because she pulls his hair. She has done this since she was a baby, but she is not a baby, so you would think she would get it. But no, she still pulled his hair.

Two Month Old Baby!!!
Thursday, October 6, 2011
My sweet Wyatt is two months old today! He had his checkup and boy, he is different than Hadley! He weighs 12 lbs. 10 oz and is in the 78% for weight. Hadley has always been consistently in the 25%. He is 23 inches long, which is in the 50%, and his head is 15.75 inches and is in the 20%. The doctor commented on what a chunker he is. He did not get shots, so it was just a check-up and he will go back at 4 months. I always thought my kids would be a bit skinny as babies since Hadley was. But this kid is an eater!
He is a sweet baby, and a little on the needy side. He loves to snuggle and be held, and I know, I indulge him in this too much. But it is so much more fun to hold my little man than do chores that need to be done! He has been smiling for about a week now, and if we are lucky, he may give us a little giggle here and there. He is starting to try to 'talk' with us and coos.
He has a special relationship with his daddy. Chris is good about giving both the kids one on one time with him. On the weekends he and Hadley go to Costco together. They have a blast and often share a smoothie or churro. And when I play soccer during the week Chris puts Hadley down for bed and hangs out with Wyatt. I come home to him holding Wyatt (sometimes because he is being needy and just plain wants to be held).
Wyatt has started to sleep better in the last week or so! He goes down late still, around 10:30 or 11, and he has been sleeping until 3am or 3:30. It is heaven! He then wakes up for another feeding around 6am.
We are SO grateful for this amazing blessing in our lives! I feel so lucky to spend my days with my two kiddos. I had some conflicting feelings for the first few weeks of Wyatt's life, but now that I have been able to get back into my routine of playing soccer, running and an occasional girls night out, I feel more settled. And Wyatt has been establishing a routine, too. He naps around the same time everyday, and the nights aren't as bad.

Pre-Wyatt Family and Pregnancy Photos
Thursday, September 15, 2011
A few weeks before Wyatt was born (about 3) my friend's husband took our pictures at this fabulous park downtown. Hadley was not very cooperative, as she just wanted to run crazy, so there aren't a whole lot of family ones. Some of just Hadley and I were taken about a week earlier, and those should be one their way soon. This picture below was the only one I took leaning against the tree because soon after I realized all these trees were crawling with little nasty worms. I had the boys inspect me and my hair for them after and then steered clear of the trees.
Chris and Hadley sure are buddies! I can't wait to frame this picture and hang it up in our house!

Newborn Portraits!
Tuesday, September 6, 2011
Wyatt is now 4 weeks old! At 3 weeks we got photos taken. We got some cute ones of Wyatt alone, and some of Hadley alone, but it didn't work out so well for the sibling or family photos.
Our little man is so handsome...and bald! Look at his old man hair...more bald on the top than on the sides.
Now at 4 weeks Wyatt is over 9 lbs. I don't know exactly how much because his next dr. appt, is not until 8 weeks old, but compared to Hadley he is a moose. Hadley was just under 9 lbs. at 8 weeks.
His eyes appear to be blue, and everyday he seems to get more alert. He makes the same little worried face that Hadley used to. He eats every 1.5 hours to 2 hours. Which explains why he is already getting rolls on his wrists and thighs.
I love the pictures of him in his little bear hat the best! He loves to be covered and all snuggly with blankets. He tolerates Hadley's smothering pretty well...until she kneels on his ankle or 'pats' him too hard. He doesn't spit up much, but he sure is noisy. He grunts all night long in his sleep, and if he isn't grunting he squeaks. It is cute, but not when we are trying to sleep. He is a cuddler, and loves to sleep next to someone. He likes to be held, likes bath time and is good at drinking a bottle. I can't believe how fast he has grown...it makes me a little sad, but I am grateful he is healthy. I love this little man so much and am loving being a mommy of 2 now! Posted by Chris and Carrie Elmore at 7:51 PM 2 comments
One Week Old!
Monday, August 15, 2011
Our Wyatt is one week old and I feel like he has already changed! He is busting out of his skin...literally. He is peeling so much all over. He got his first bath today because his umbilical stump fell off, but he is still peeling even after I scrubbed him.
Looks like Wyatt may have gotten his daddy's crystal blue eyes! Two for two! But, he is also mostly bald, like Elmore babies are.
Wyatt is sweet-natured (I think more so than Hadley was). He doesn't freak out when having to switch sides for breastfeeding. And he doesn't get mad when he has to get burped. He had his first real bath tonight and he didn't fuss at all. He was calm in the water, and only got a little upset when he got out and had to get dressed. He doesn't even get angry when he has a dirty diaper, unlike Hadley who let you know right away, very loudly and angrily as soon as she had dirtied it.
I feel like in one week Wyatt has changed a ton. His bruising from the fast delivery is gone. His puffy eyes have gone down. And his little nose bridge is becoming more apparent. Last Tuesday at the doctor he was 7 pounds and 5 ounces, and I am sure he is more now, but I won't know until I take him again. It seems his cheeks have filled out a little more, too. I am treasuring every moment with him, and I am so lucky that Hadley isn't jealous so I get to hold him a lot. Hadley is getting her cuddle time in with me, too, and with Wyatt, as she likes to hold him and rub his head.

Wyatt Richard is here!
Thursday, August 11, 2011
Wyatt was born to our family on Saturday, August 6th. He came out looking just like Hadley, but with a bit of an old man hair style. He doesn't have much hair...I think all our kids will be born pretty bald (thanks to Chris' side of the family). The labor was short...about 4.5 hours. About half of this was spent at the aquarium and the botanical gardens, walking around and timing contractions. About 2.5 hours after we got to the hospital we had Wyatt in our arms. Chris and I had been practicing hypnobirthing, and it was helpful. I was able to have Wyatt drug-free. Was the pain worth it? Not so sure. But it was worth it for the way I felt afterwards! Amazing!

Below Wyatt is all set to check out of the hospital.
Overall Wyatt is a sweet little guy. A little mixed up on his days and nights, but so sweet. I am getting my cuddle fixes since Hadley wont cuddle me. He is such an eater...poor guy was so hungry and my milk hadn't come in yet, but he has been better since my milk came in. He really likes the swing, and hates to be changed, clothing and the diaper. I just absolutely love him and LOVE having a newborn...despite the lack of sleep and everything that comes along with a newborn.
